- Moray Firth Sea Trout
A collaborative project to carry out population research and to improve management practice which will involve Boards, Trusts, Angling Assocs, NGOs and GOs within Moray Firth region Part funded –full funding confirmation expected by September 2007.
- Strategic Plan
A document describing the relationship between the Trust and the Kyle Board. A new edition will be produced during the autumn of 2007.
- Survey of the Economic Impact of Angling in Kyle Region
Survey completed March 2007. Shows value of angling to Kyle catchment of £3.75m/year. Supports 86 fte jobs - 13% of local employment.
- The Shin Smolt PIT Tagging Project
The Trust has become involved with the Kyle Board to manage and co-fund a project monitoring smolt migration on the Shin system which will eventually see the re-introduction of a sustainable salmon population above the hydro dams on the Upper Shin tributaries – Tirry, Fiag and Merkland rivers
- Training - Bell Ingram Bursary
An annual programme to train a local graduate/student to work with the Kyle Board bailiff team sponsored by Bell Ingram.
- Trustees
The Trust is seeking to appoint new Trustees to complete their requirement for broader representation.
- Upper Tributary Native Hardwood Tree Planting Scheme
Headwater Habitat Enhancement create new mixed species woodlands along headwaters of main catchment tributaries to improve spawning, feeding and juvenile habitat and set up full monitoring programme to assess impact on base ecology. A collaborative project between Estates, Proprietor Groups and Forestry Commission. Could provide up to 25 kms of double bank native hardwood planting. Due to commence Spring 2008
